Pittsburgh Lawyer Nariman P. Dastur to Receive Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section Award

HARRISBURG, Pa. (June 27, 2024) — The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Workers’ Compensation Law Section will present the 2024 Irvin Stander Memorial Award to Nariman P. Dastur, managing partner, DeAngelis, Dastur & Associates PC, Pittsburgh, during the section’s annual fall meeting Sept. 12-13 at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey.

The award, named in memory of the late Judge Irvin Stander, is presented annually to an attorney who embodies devotion to the administration of workers’ compensation law, shares knowledge and information to improve the practice and inspires high professional ideals.

In his practice, Dastur exclusively focuses on the representation of workers’ compensation claimants. In 2013, he was among the first lawyers to become certified as a workers’ compensation specialist in Pennsylvania.

Within the PBA, Dastur is a member and past chair of the Worker’s Compensation Law Section. For several years, he served as chair of the planning committee for the section’s fall meeting and continues to serve as a planner and presenter. He is also a Zone 12 delegate to the PBA House of Delegates.

In addition, Dastur is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and a member and past chair of its Workers’ Compensation Section Council. In 2020, he was named a fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers. Since 2016, he has served on the board of directors of Kids’ Chance of Pennsylvania, an organization that provides scholarships for children whose parents were killed or seriously injured in work-related accidents.

Dastur received his Juris Doctor from Case Western University School of Law, Cleveland, and his bachelor’s degree from Westminster College, New Wilmington.
