Mercer County Lawyer Merchant-Calvert to Serve on Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors

HARRISBURG (May 5, 2020) — Melissa Merchant-Calvert of Mercer will begin a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Board of Governors at the close of the association’s May 8 House of Delegates meeting.

One of 12 PBA zone governors, Merchant-Calvert will represent Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer county lawyers.

Merchant-Calvert has been a voting delegate in the PBA House of Delegates, the association’s policymaking body, since 2015.

She has been the PBA Young Lawyers Division’s Zone 10 co-chair since 2016.

Also active in the local organized bar, Merchant-Calvert is the current secretary of the Mercer County Bar Association and has served for five years as the chair of the association’s Young Lawyers Division.

Since 2012, Merchant-Calvert has practiced at the Whalen Law Offices in Mercer.

Merchant Calvert is a graduate of Edinboro University and obtained her law degree from Barry University in Orlando, Fl.
