Centre County Lawyer Kelly A. Mroz to Serve as Pennsylvania Bar Association Treasurer

HARRISBURG, Pa. (May 1, 2023) — Kelly A. Mroz of State College will begin a three-year term as treasurer on the Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors at the conclusion of the association’s Annual Meeting, May 5, in Philadelphia.

From 2019 to 2022, Mroz served on the PBA Board of Governors as a zone governor representing Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk and Potter county lawyers who are members of the association.

Since 2018, Mroz has been a voting member of the PBA House of Delegates, the policymaking body of the association. She was also a voting member of the House from 2003 to 2004 and 2006 to 2012.

Mroz is a member of the PBA Commission on Women in the Profession, Legal Services to the Public, LGBTQ+ Rights, Legal Academics and Quality of Life/Balance committees and the PBA Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.

She was a 2001-02 member of the PBA Bar Leadership Institute, which develops future leaders of the association.

In addition, Mroz served on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, the charitable affiliate of the PBA, from 2016 to 2022. She has been chair of the foundation’s Marketing Committee and a member of its Events Committee since 2018.

Also active in local bar activities, Mroz has been co-chair of the Centre County Bar Association Women’s Law Committee. She was previously active in the Erie County Bar Association, serving as chair of the Family Law Section in 2012, co-chair of the Family Law Section in 2005, 2006 and 2010, and chair of the Young Lawyers Division in 2002 and 2003.

From 2015 to 2018, Mroz served on the Center for Alternatives in Community Justice Board of Directors. She previously served on the Campaign Cabinet and the Women in Action Steering Committee of the United Way of Erie and was the 2007-08 president of the Junior League of Erie.

Mroz is assistant general counsel at the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Mroz was director of Penn State Student Legal Services. She is co-author of Landlord Tenant Law and Practice, Fifth Edition, published by George T. Bisel Company Inc. in 2022.

Mroz is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and an honors graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
