Triquetra Law in Lancaster Selected for PBA’s WIP H. Robert Fiebach Award

HARRISBURG, Pa. (April 18, 2023) — The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Commission on Women in the Profession (WIP) will present the H. Robert Fiebach Award for the Promotion of Women in the Law to Triquetra Law, Lancaster, on May 4 at the WIP Annual Conference held during the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.

The award, formerly known as the Promotion of Women in the Law Award, was created in 2017 to honor Pennsylvania law firms and solo practitioners, corporate law departments and other organizations providing legal services that have instituted programs or initiatives that help women lawyers continue and advance in their careers while maintaining a work/life balance.

In 2019, the award was renamed to honor H. Robert Fiebach, who was the1993-94 PBA president and who identified among his top presidential priorities the incorporation of more women into the legal profession, the PBA and PBA leadership roles.

Since its founding in 2006, Triquetra Law has been committed to representing women and minorities who experience discrimination, civil rights infringements and retaliation in the workplace. The firm’s philosophy is that every employee should be able to work in a safe, fair and lawful environment.

Founding partners Andrea C. Farney and Sharon R. López extend their firm’s advocacy model to activities outside the workplace by mentoring law students and young lawyers through the PBA WIP and law schools. The firm’s of counsel lawyer, Henry M. Sias, contributes to various legal continuing education efforts regarding LGBTQ+ and transgender issues.

Farney is active in the PBA and serves as co-chair of the WIP Diversity Committee. She is a member of several committees, including Disability Services, Quality of Life/Balance and Minority Bar committees. She is currently contributing to an LGBTQ+ Rights Committee informational report addressing Title IX, athletics, and fairness and equity for transgender and cisgender women. Within the Lancaster County Bar Association, Farney serves as chair of its Nominating Committee, and is a member of its Diversity Committee, WIP and Labor and Employment Law Section.

López, a past PBA president and current co-chair of the WIP Legislative Committee, serves on numerous PBA committees, including the Civil and Equal Rights, LGBTQ+ Rights and Minority Bar committees. During her PBA presidency, López focused on supporting millennials, minorities and mothers in the legal profession. Her “Back to the Bar” project provided help for mothers looking to take time off legal work to start or raise a family. She is also an active member of the PBA Conference of County Bar Leaders Executive Committee and the Lancaster Bar Association.

Sias is the diversity liaison for the PBA LGBTQ+ Rights Committee and is an active member of the Civil and Equal Rights Committee; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team; WIP; and other PBA committees. He also serves as a commissioner on Pennsylvania’s Commission of LGBTQ Affairs, advising the governor’s office on an executive order providing workplace protections against sexual harassment and misconduct for state employees, ensuring that such protections cover LGBTQ workers.
