Pittsburgh Lawyer W. Henry Snyder to Receive PBA Sell/Clark Award Recognizing Extraordinary Contributions in Business Law

HARRISBURG (Oct. 11, 2022) — W. Henry Snyder, partner at K&L Gates, Pittsburgh, is the recipient of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) W. Edward Sell/William H. Clark Jr. Business Lawyer Award, which will be presented during the opening remarks at the 2022 Business Law Institute on Nov. 15 in Philadelphia.

Presented by the PBA Business Law Section, the W. Edward Sell/William H. Clark Jr. Business Lawyer Award honors the contributions to the practice of business law at the highest level, either through the practice of law or through teaching. Recipients must have contributed to the statutory development of business law in Pennsylvania and to PBA by working in leadership roles in the Business Law Section.

Snyder’s professional affiliations include serving as past chair of the PBA Business Law Section and serving on the section’s Title 15 Committee and council. He is also a member of the PBA Tax Law Section. Snyder is a member of the Allegheny County, Washington State and American bar associations. For the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Snyder serves on the Corporation Bureau Advisory Committee.

Civically, Snyder serves on the board of directors for Every Child Inc., which focuses on providing care and support for foster children with significant medical needs.

At his firm, Snyder practices tax and corporate law. He has represented public and privately held corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships on a variety of issues, including choice of entity, operating and shareholder agreements.

A frequent lecturer on corporate law and taxation, including mergers, acquisitions and business transactions, Snyder has served as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Snyder earned his LL.M. from New York University School of Law, his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law and his B.A. from University of Washington.

The PBA Business Law Section consists of approximately 750 licensed Pennsylvania lawyers supporting the advancement of business practice through practical legal education, legislative drafting, and communication and networking within the bar.
