  • Thinking On Your Feet and Telling Your Story: Using Improv Techniques to Elevate Your Effectiveness as a leader

    11:05 a.m. - 12:05 a.m.

    Commonwealth Salon 3, Level 2

It’s an inevitable part of leadership, you are going to be caught off guard, put on the spot, and asked to think quickly. The improv techniques you learn in this session will help build your confidence that you can roll with the punches while also improving your leadership and lawyering skills. Improv teaches you to think out- side of the box, listen more closely and communicate more effectively. It requires awareness of other’s words, tone, facial expressions, and body language; all skills that help you better relate to people (client, jury, judge, other stakeholders, and even opposing counsel.) Improv, at its core, is all about storytelling.

And leaders must inspire the next generation of leaders to grow the association and advance the legal profession. Bar association representatives from across the state will share how their associations effectively engage, promote and support underrepresented attorneys through proven strategies and programs.
