Uniform Deployed Parents Custody and Visitation Act passes in Legislature

House Bill 414, the Uniform Deployed Parents Custody and Visitation Act, long supported by the PBA, has passed out of both chambers with unanimous support and awaits Gov. Shapiro's signature. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Craig Williams, protects the child custody and visitation rights of servicemembers by preventing any permanent custody changes while on deployment for longer than 30 days.

The application period for the 2025 workers' compensation certification examination opens Oct. 1. An application fee of $325 is due when the application is submitted. After applications are processed and verified, applicants will be notified if they have met the requirements for sitting for the exam. If so, an exam fee of $150 will be due at that time. The 2026 examination will be administered on March 13. Get more information.
