Riding for a Cause

As the charitable arm of the PA Bar Association, the PA Bar Foundation is proud to celebrate the PBA’s 125th Anniversary. It is collaborations, partnerships, and teamwork that help keep our profession and communities strong. PBA’s Ross Miller cycled the Pine Creek Rail Trail on Saturday, Sept. 12. Each mile Ross completed represented the many years the bar association committed to excellence in the legal profession.

The PA Bar Foundation is proud and thankful that Ross allowed this personal cycling journey to also serve as a worthy fundraiser. He completed his goal of riding 125 miles in 9 hours and 21 minutes, helping us raise over $4,000!

We are putting those generous contributions to immediate good use, strengthening the network of attorneys delivering critical pro bono legal assistance to Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable and educating students about civics and the rule of law, so they can participate meaningfully in our democracy.

Additionally, we are providing 25% of the money raised to the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc., an organization which facilitates the delivery of free legal services to low-income Pennsylvanians; and 25% to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, for which through litigation, advocacy, and public education, seeks to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans.
