The Dorothy G. Hatfield Memorial Scholarship Program, established in 2025, provides a $3,000 scholarship to a 4E/evening law student attending the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University who has an interest in advancing the legal interests of children. The scholarship is awarded annually, on a competitive basis, for up to five awards.
To qualify, applicants must be:
- Enrolled at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University;
- 4E/4L evening law student;
- Pennsylvania resident as documented by applicant’s voter registration card or Pennsylvania driver’s license. Consideration may be given to out-of-state residents who demonstrate, in their essays, a commitment to advancing the interests of Pennsylvania children;
- Interest in pursuing law which directly advances the legal interests of children as discussed in the applicant’s essay and evidenced by the applicant’s recommendations; and
- A Law Student member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association which is free for electronic members. Sign-up Here
Applications are due July 20, and the scholarship will be awarded after Board approval and applicants will be notified accordingly.
