Patti Rose Scheimer Bednarik Memorial Scholarship Fund

Celebrate the life and life’s work of lawyer and animal welfare advocate Patti Rose Scheimer Bednarik, Esq. with a contribution to the fund created by Joseph T. Bednarik, Esq. in her honor and memory to support the award of an annual scholarship to a law school student who pursues an interest in animal welfare as part of his/her daily activities and legal training and/or a grant to a young lawyer who pursues an interest in animal welfare as part of his/her daily activities and/or law practice.

Endowment Fund

Law-related Education Fund

In this post 9/11 world, law-related institutions have an obligation and the unique knowledge base to make youth justice education a priority, The Pennsylvania Bar Foundation has been doing it since 1998, providing nearly $700,000 to fund youth justice education programs designed to enhance young Americans’ understanding of the law and their appreciation of the values and privileges of democracy. Foundation funded projects reach into school systems from elementary grades through senior high school as well as into Pennsylvania’s communities. Join the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and Pennsylvania Bar Association in ensuring that Pennsylvania’s youth are prepared to be the future guardians of liberty and justice by making a donation to the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation in support of law-related education.

Pennsylvania Bar Foundation – PA IOLTA Loan Repayment Assistance Program (“LRAP”)

Law school debt is the number one reason attorneys either fail to enter or to remain in public service careers. To help overcome this obstacle, the PA Bar Foundation and the PA IOLTA Board launched a loan repayment assistance program for attorneys employed by IOLTA-funded civil legal services organizations in September 2010. The program provides forgivable loans to help eligible public interest attorneys better manage their law school loan debt. Though funded primarily through a pro hac vice fees, the Foundation is committed to raising funds to expand the reach and scope of the program.

Pro Bono Fund

Funding supports the Annual Pro Bono Awards, ongoing CLEs (many free for pro bono volunteers), clinics coordinated through the PBA Pro Bono Office, and internships for students of all ages interested in public interest.

James W. Stoudt Memorial Scholarship Fund

Named after one of the Foundation’s most devoted supporters, the James W. Stoudt Memorial Scholarship program provides two scholarships to each of the accredited law schools presently serving Pennsylvania, one of which is specifically designated for support of a minority law student. The scholarships are provided on an annual basis and are awarded based upon the following criteria: academic achievement, financial need, and the potential for making a contribution to society and the legal profession either through anticipated legal field or other efforts.
