FIVE PENNSYLVANIA LAWYERS RECEIVE SPECIAL PRESIDENTIAL AWARDS


HARRISBURG (June 21, 2006) � Five Pennsylvania lawyers were honored with special Pennsylvania Bar Association President�s Awards during the association�s recent annual meeting in Hershey. The awards were bestowed at the discretion of the PBA president to recognize exceptional service.

�I am proud to recognize five outstanding Pennsylvania lawyers who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the PBA through their leadership and professionalism,� said William P. Carlucci, 2005-06 PBA president. �These five lawyers have given thousands of volunteer hours to the PBA and have made vital contributions to the legal profession in Pennsylvania.�

Awards were presented to the following:

Carbon County
William Z. Scott Jr. of Lehighton, a partner in the Bethlehem office of Marshall Dennehy Warner Coleman & Goggin, was recognized for his outstanding leadership efforts in chairing a special PBA task force charged with conducting a comprehensive survey of PBA membership.

Chester County
Albert P. Massey Jr. of Wayne, a partner in the Malvern law firm of Lentz Cantor & Massey Ltd., was recognized for his outstanding leadership efforts in chairing the Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Fund and Trust from 2004 to 2006.

Montgomery County
Nancy Hopkins Wentz of Gladwyne, a partner in the Norristown law firm of McGrory Wentz LLP, was recognized for her dedication and commitment in serving as president of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute for two terms.

Philadelphia County
Michael A. Bloom of Philadelphia, a senior partner with the national law firm of Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, was recognized for demonstrating a high level of professionalism, dedication and commitment to duty as the long-time chair of the PBA Judicial Evaluation Commission.

State Rep. Kathy M. Manderino of Philadelphia was recognized for her invaluable contributions to the PBA Board of Governors as both a lawyer and a member of the Pennsylvania legislature.
