Allentown Law Firm to Receive Award for Excellence in Lawyer Advertising

HARRISBURG (June 2, 2008) - The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) will present the Award for Excellence in Lawyer Advertising to the Allentown-based law firm of Tallman Hudders & Sorrentino.

The award will be presented to the firm by the PBA Lawyer Advertising Task Force Implementation Committee during the association's Annual Meeting, June 5, at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey, Pa.

Based on recommendations by the 2006-07 PBA Task Force on Lawyer Advertising, the award recognizes lawyers for developing creative advertising that incorporates clear and accurate messages, generates new business or enhances existing client relationships and that conforms to Pennsylvania's Rules of Professional Conduct.

Tallman Hudders & Sorrentino submitted a series of print ads carrying the tagline, "Just. Smart. Business." The ads typically included reference to the firm's positive contributions to the community and injected a slice of humor.

"Advertising and marketing have become an essential part of building and maintaining a successful business, and lawyer advertising, which is often criticized, can be effective without being offensive," said Thomas G. Wilkinson Jr., co-chair of the PBA Lawyer Advertising Task Force Implementation Committee. "The award judges were very impressed with the quality and variety of the advertising entered for review, and the committee is pleased to recognize high quality advertising that is yielding positive results."

Entries were evaluated on the following criteria:

* Truthful and accurate presentation of acts and/or positions taken

* Positive representation of the profession as well as of the lawyers and/or firm being promoted

* Creativity

* Reasonable representation of ability to provide successful outcomes

* Fair statements of expectations

* Statements of success, with documented evidence if available
