HARRISBURG (May 19, 2006) � Kenneth J. Horoho Jr., a partner in the Pittsburgh law firm of Goldberg, Gruener, Gentile, Horoho & Avalli P.C., will become the 112th president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association during the organization�s Annual Meeting June 7 � 9 in Hershey. Horoho will receive the official gavel of office June 8 at the PBA Annual Dinner at The Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.

A member of the PBA House of Delegates since 1990, Horoho chairs the PBA Planning Committee and served as PBA Zone 12 (Allegheny County) governor on the PBA Board of Governors. He was chair of the PBA Young Lawyers Division in 1991 and was a vice-chair of the PBA Children�s Rights Committee and the PBA Membership Development Committee. He served for six years on the executive council of the PBA Family Law Section and chaired the PBA Task Force on Quality of Life/Balance.

Horoho served for 12 years on the Allegheny County Bar Association�s Board of Governors and was chairperson of its Family Law and Young Lawyers� sections.

Horoho served in the ABA House of Delegates in 1991 and 1992. He was a member of the executive council of the American Bar Association�s Young Lawyers Division and vice chairperson of the ABA/YLD Children and Law Committee.

Horoho was named as an adjunct professor on the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in January 2005. He teaches a course on advanced family law trial advocacy.

A former member of the board of directors of Pennsylvania Special Olympics, Horoho has been on the board of directors of the Downtown YMCA since 1982 and served as its president from 1987 until 1989. He has chaired the annual YMCA Scholar Athlete Banquet for more than 20 years. He is a past recipient of the Art Rooney Humanitarian Award and the St. Francis College Outstanding Pittsburgh Alumnus Award and the YMCA Service to Youth Award.

He is a graduate of St. Francis University and the Duquesne University School of Law, where he was a staff member of Juris magazine and served on the Appellate Moot Court Board.

He and his wife, Joan, and son, Sean, live in Pittsburgh.
