Haines Becomes Immediate Past President of Pennsylvania Bar Association

HARRISBURG (May 3, 2010) - Clifford E. Haines, president of the Philadelphia law firm of Haines & Associates, will become immediate past president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association at the conclusion of the organization's Annual Meeting May 14 in Hershey.

A former Zone One Governor representing Philadelphia lawyers on the PBA Board of Governors, Haines serves in the PBA House of Delegates and as a PBA delegate in the American Bar Association House of Delegates. A former chair of the PABAR-PAC, Haines is the chair of the PBA Presidential Planning Committee.

Haines is a former chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He is a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is a former chair and current member of the board of directors of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts.

Haines is a Senate-approved board member of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and serves on the board of directors of the Philadelphia Opera Company. He serves on the board of directors of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority, having been appointed to the position by Gov. Ed Rendell. Haines also serves as a director of the Temple University Beasley School of Law Academy of Advocacy.

He is a graduate of Muskingum College and the Ohio State University School of Law.
