Allegheny County Lawyer Jay N. Silberblatt to Serve on Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors


HARRISBURG (April 30, 2015) - Jay N. Silberblatt of the law firm of Silberblatt Mermelstein PC, Pittsburgh, will begin a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Board of Governors at the conclusion of the association's Annual Meeting, May 8 in Philadelphia.

One of 12 zone governors who serve on the PBA Board, Silberblatt will represent Allegheny County lawyers.

Silberblatt is a member of the PBA House of Delegates and is the chair of PBA Professional Liability Committee. He served as chair of the PBA Civil Litigation Section and as chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association Civil Litigation Section.

He serves on the board of directors and the audit committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, the charitable affiliate of the PBA.

Silberblatt is a Fellow of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. He has served on the organization's board of governors, Professionalism Committee, Electronics for the Litigator Committee and Website Committee.

He serves on the board of directors of the Jewish Association on Aging and the Advisory Committee for the Rauh Jewish Archives of the Senator John Heinz History Center. He is a past president of Temple Sinai.

Silberblatt has lectured on a variety of topics throughout the state and has authored numerous articles for legal periodicals.

Silberblatt is a cum laude graduate of Allegheny College and earned his law degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served as a senior writer on the Law Review.
