Northampton County Lawyer Receives 'Everyday Leader' Award

HARRISBURG (March 16, 2007) - Northampton County lawyer Peter J. Buddock has received an Everyday Leader Award from the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA).

"To his colleagues and friends, Peter Buddock is a disciplined and motivated professional and he is an inspiration," said PBA President Kenneth J. Horoho Jr., who presented the award to Buddock during a dinner meeting of the Northampton County Bar Association earlier this week at the Best Western Conference Center, Bethlehem. "Seriously injured in an auto accident, Peter faced down his physical challenges by choosing a courageous, uplifting outlook and by committing himself to serving others."

Generous with his time and his advice to other legal professionals and the public, Buddock is a legal research assistant to the Public Defenders of Northampton County and provides legal research to patrons of the Northampton County Library.

Admitted to legal practice in 1992, Buddock is a graduate of Moravian College and Wake Forest University Law School.

"There is no greater leader than one who conducts his or her own life with a quiet yet powerful determination," said Joel H. Ziev, president, Northampton County Bar Association. "Peter handles life-changing events with strength, grace and even good humor. Those of us privileged to work with Peter know that we can count on a warm hello, a pleasant smile and a helping hand.

"The Everyday Leader Award is given to individuals who go above and beyond, sharing their time and talent to help and support others," said Horoho. "They work hard each and every day performing good works, not for personal gain or recognition, but for the right reasons - to improve the places they call home and to better Pennsylvania's legal system. Peter Buddock is one of these 'everyday leaders,' whose dedication to our profession is only surpassed by his positive approach to life and its challenges."

Founded in 1895, the Pennsylvania Bar Association exists to promote justice, professional excellence and respect of the law; improve public understanding of the legal system; facilitate access to legal services; and serve the 29,000 lawyers who are members of the association.
