HARRISBURG LAWYER ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF THE PENNSYLVANIA BAR ASSOCIATION

HARRISBURG (May 2001) - Christopher C. Conner, a partner in the Harrisburg law firm of Mette, Evans and Woodside, was elected vice president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association during the organization�s annual meeting held this month in Pittsburgh. Conner will become president of the association in 2003, making him the first Harrisburg lawyer in more than 25 years to head the state bar association. The last Harrisburg lawyer to serve as president of PBA was Irwin Benjamin in 1976.

Conner is a former Zone 3 governor and chair of the PBA Young Lawyers Division. Active in PBA committees, Conner served as chair of the Judicial Selection and Reform Committee for five years and currently serves on the Judicial Independence Committee. He is a past member of the Dauphin County Bar Association Board of Directors. Conner has been recognized by the Pennsylvania and American Bar associations for his work on judicial selection and discipline issues and his work with the statewide high school mock trial competition.

Also active in community affairs, Conner is president of the Wildcat Foundation of the Mechanicsburg Area School District, past president of the Upper Allen Baseball Association and alumni ambassador for Cornell University.

He is a graduate of Cornell University and the Dickinson School of Law. Conner is married to Katherene Holtzinger Conner, who is an attorney. They have four children and reside in Upper Allen Township.
