York County Court Rules for PBA Position on UPL by CPAs
A Supplemental Order of Court signed Dec. 2, 2005, in the case of York County Bar Association v. William J. Kirk CPA has affirmed the Dec. 20, 2002, ruling by the Court of Common Pleas of York County and incorporated into that ruling Formal Opinion 97-103 of the PBA Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Formal Opinion 97-103 addresses the unauthorized practice of law by public and certified public accountants or others not licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania in the creation of associations and the advertisement of those associations.
