The Task Force on Student Loan Forgiveness and Repayment Assistance was charged by the PBA leadership to explore ways to help attorneys interested in public service careers perform such work when faced with the economic hurdle of staggering student debt, the task force has four working groups � development, law schools, employers and research � that are striving to fulfill the mission of the task force. A report was made to the Board of Governors and the House of Delegates in June 2006 and both bodies passed a resolution supporting the recommendations of the report. In 2006, the task force was made a PBA committee.
