CHESTER COUNTY JUDGE ELECTED TO THE PENNSYLVANIA BAR ASSOCIATION BOARD OF GOVERNORS

HARRISBURG (April 9, 2003) � Chester County Court of Common Pleas Judge Robert J. Shenkin will be elected to the Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors at the close of the organization�s annual meeting April 23 � 25 in Philadelphia.

One of 12 zone governors who serve on the PBA Board, Shenkin will represent Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery county lawyers. His term will expire in 2006.

Shenkin has served on the Chester County Court of Common Pleas since 1990. Prior to becoming a judge, he was in private practice for 20 years with the law firm of MacElree, Harvey, Gallagher & Featherman, Ltd. Shenkin is a member of the PBA House of Delegates and is a former chair of the PBA Young Lawyers Division. He is also a member of the American and Chester County Bar associations and the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges.

Active in his community, Shenkin serves on the boards of the Delaware Valley Friends School and the Alan Ameche Memorial Foundation. He is a past chair of the West Whiteland Township Board of Supervisors and a past executive board member of the Chester City Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Shenkin is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Duke University School of Law.
