Lackawanna County Lawyer to Serve on Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors

HARRISBURG (June 8, 2007) - Lackawanna County lawyer Michael J. McDonald, partner with the law firm of Foley, McLane, Foley, McDonald and MacGregor P.C., Scranton, will begin a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors at the close of the organization's Annual Meeting, June 20-22, in Philadelphia.

One of 12 zone governors who serve on the PBA board, McDonald will represent Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming county lawyers.

He had served on the PBA House of Delegates for three years and had served as a zone delegate and a county delegate to the PBA Young Lawyers Division.

McDonald is a former president of the Lackawanna County Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Division. He received the association's President's Award last year for outstanding service to the legal profession.

Additional professional leadership roles include McDonald's service as president of the Federal Bar Association Middle District of Pennsylvania Chapter and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.

McDonald currently serves as vice chairman and as a member of the board of directors for Fidelity Deposit and Discount Bank, a community bank located in Dunmore with offices throughout northeastern Pennsylvania.

He also has served on the board of trustees for Scranton Preparatory School, the board of directors for Meals on Wheels of Lackawanna County and the board of directors for Lackawanna Pro Bono, Inc, which provides legal services to low-income residents.

McDonald is a graduate of Villanova University and Dickinson School of Law.
