Philadelphia Lawyer Elected Secretary of the Pennsylvania Bar Association

HARRISBURG (June 6, 2007) - Philadelphia lawyer Charles Eppolito III of White and Williams L.L.P. will begin a one-year term as secretary of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) at the close of the organization's Annual Meeting, June 20-22, in Philadelphia.

Eppolito has been a member of the PBA's House of Delegates since 2001 and has served on a variety of the statewide association's committees and task forces. He currently is chair of the PBA Quality of Life/Balance Committee, co-vice chair of the PBA Membership Development Committee and a member of the PBA Planning Committee and Minority Bar Committee. He was chair of the 2005-06 Annual Meeting Task Force and co-chair of the most recent Midyear Meeting. Eppolito was the 2002-03 chair of the PBA Young Lawyers Division and has been active in the PBA YLD Mock Trial Competition for Pennsylvania high school students.

During the Annual Meeting, Eppolito will receive the Michael K Smith Excellence in Service Award from the Pennsylvania Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (PBA YLD). The award, named in memory of a young Philadelphia lawyer, is presented to a Pennsylvania young lawyer for exemplary personal and professional conduct that reminds lawyers of their professional and community responsibilities.

Eppolito is a member of the hearing committee for the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

He is a member of the American Bar Association's House of Delegates and is vice chair of its Young Lawyers Division's National Conferences Team.

He also serves on the executive committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.

He is a former chair and vice chair of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute's Young Members Committee.

Committed to public service, Eppolito has coordinated and presented public programs across the country about the jury system and about diversity and tolerance. He is a member of Variety Club - The Children's Charity of Greater Philadelphia and is a supporter of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Eppolito is a graduate of Villanova University and the Villanova University School of Law.
