PHILADELPHIA LAWYER ELECTED TO THE PENNSYLVANIA BAR ASSOCIATION BOARD OF GOVERNORS

HARRISBURG (May 6, 2002) - Philadelphia lawyer Clifford E. Haines was elected to the Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors during the association�s annual meeting held May 1 - 3 in Hershey.

One of 12 zone governors who serve on the PBA Board, Haines will represent Philadelphia lawyers. His term will expire in 2005.

Haines is a former co-chair of the PBA Task Force on Legal Service to the Poor, Part II and chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, American Judicature Society and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. Haines is a past member of the Pennsylvania Futures Commission.

A shareholder in the Philadelphia law firm of Litvin, Blumberg, Matusow & Young, Haines also serves as director of the Academy of Advocacy, which is a nonprofit, locally-based trial training program that is offered to skilled lawyers in a concentrated one week course. He is an accomplished lecturer, teaching courses for the Temple University Beasley School of Law and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

Active in his community, Haines currently serves on the boards of the Philadelphia Opera Company, the PILCOP and Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts. He also is involved with the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts Leadership Council. Haines is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 1999 Pennsylvania Bar Association President�s Award.

Haines is a graduate of Muskingum College and the Ohio State University College of Law.
