K-12 Education Programs

Welcome to the K-12 Law-Related Education Homepage of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Web site! The Pennsylvania Bar Association’s law-related education programs are designed to help Pennsylvania schools lay a foundation for teaching civics and government in the classroom. The PBA partners with the National Constitution Center, national civic education organizations, local bar associations, judges and lawyers to accomplish this goal. The cornerstone LRE projects, include Celebrate the Constitution, Project PEACE, Law Day, Mock Trial and Stepping Out.

It provides actual lesson plans, links to grant opportunities and other law-related education organizations and information about getting involved in the PBA’s law-related education programs. “Law for Kids – By Kids”

The “Law for Kids – By Kids” area of the PBA Web site was created by New Hope Solebury High School student Ian Garvey, who wrote and designed the site during the 2001-02 school year. His was the winning entry in the PBA Children’s Rights Committee-sponsored Web site design contest. This material is intended to help students learn about students’ rights.
