Join us for this 2 hour, in person Avoiding Legal Malpractice and Legislative CLE program. The first hour of the program will feature information on a variety of issues that have been identified as common areas where attorneys can be exposed to liability or malpractice claims and focuses on steps to take to avoid potential professional liability claims. The seminar features practical discussions on common situations attorneys face in their daily practice. Through these scenarios, participants will gain actionable insights into identifying potential risks and the steps necessary to avoid them.
The second hour of the program offers a comprehensive overview of how a bill becomes law in Pennsylvania, giving participants a better understanding of the state's legislative process. Participants will be guided through each stage of the process-from the initial drafting and introduction of a bill, through committee review and legislative debate, all the way to the Governor's desk for signature. In addition to exploring the formal procedures within the General Assembly, the program will also provide insight into the Pennsylvania Bar Association's internal governance structure, including how its various sections, committees, Board of Governors, and House of Delegates work together to evaluate proposed legislation and determine whether to take an official position. This dual focus equips attendees with both a macro and micro view of lawmaking and advocacy in the Commonwealth.
