Google Real Estate Search

You might be interested in this posting on August 7th on the blog "Death

I have already used the free satellite maps of sites, which are
available in great detail for some geographic areas, accessible through

Google Real Estate Search: A New Tool

If you do a search for "real estate" or "[name of city] real estate" on
Google <http://www.google.com/> , you now get as one of your top results
something that says "Refine your search for [name of city] real estate."
By clicking on the link, you can search local real estate -- for sale or
rent -- and see results on Google maps.

For instance, if your Google search is "Chicago real estate," you can
get to this results page
<http://www.google.com/base/search?q=&hl=en&gl=us&sa=X&oi=gb_refinement&
ct=title&a_n0=housing&a_y0=9&a_o0=0&a_n152=Location&a_y152=6&a_v152=chic
ago&a_o152=0&a_t152=30&a_n777=Listing%20type&a_y777=1> , which can be
personalized. (For instance, you can search only homes for sale within
five miles of your zipcode.)

This tool looks like it's still in its infancy -- the list of real
estate seems far from exhaustive -- but it's worth remembering as
another on-line option.
