Avoidance of Legal Malpractice Seminars

Provided by the PBA and developed by the PBA Professional Liability Committee, seminars are offered each year to provide attorneys with best practices to more effectively manage their risks and reduce their exposure to legal malpractice.

During the seminars, members enrolled in the PBA Insurance Program, which is advised and administered by USI Affinity, gain valuable malpractice avoidance information and earn up to a 7.5% discount on their malpractice insurance.

The seminars, sponsored by the PBA Insurance Program and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, are approved for 2 hours of ethics, professionalism or substance abuse CLE credit.

If you missed the live November 29th program, it is now available On-Demand. The program features information on a variety of issues that have been identified as common areas where attorneys can be exposed to liability or malpractice claims and focuses on steps we can all take to avoid, or at least mitigate, potential claims. Community Resource Materials for County Bars

The "Community Outreach Resource Manual" was developed as a class project of the 2018-2019 BLI Class. Resources from local bar associations and other legal organizations were collected and compiled them into a single manual, accessible to all county bar associations. It includes community outreach presentations, flyers, outlines and pamphlets that can be used by bar associations and their leaders as they work on developing community outreach programs. The enclosed pamphlets, brochures, flyers, presentations and outlines were provided by the identified bar associations. Thank you to those bar executives who have shared materials and if you have additional materials that you would like to include, please contact the county bar services department.
