The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Commission on Women in the Profession (WIP) will host its 2011 Midyear Meetings in Philadelphia, Mechanicsburg and Pittsburgh. Contrary to what most people think, they are not responsible for their own careers or business development; however, each of us is responsible for getting those influential others to notice us, know the good work we do, have positive feelings about us, and remember us at the appropriate time. The 2011 meetings will take the theme of "Influence, Power, and Strategic Communication in Negotiations, the Courtroom, the Office, and Beyond" and look at it through the stories of how our panelists used their unique power bases effectively and also explore, in a workshop design, how we can discover, hone and more effectively use our personal power.

The WIP Midyear Meetings are designed for legal professionals in all practice areas and employment sectors regardless of the number of years of legal experience. To that end, anyone interested in learning additional strategies or sharing tips about using power and influence effectively should attend one of the three meetings listed below and take advantage of the opportunity to earn 2 substantive hours of CLE credits at a reasonable cost.

Each meeting will begin with a one-hour panel discussion followed by a one-hour interactive, experiential workshop designed and facilitated by Susan Letterman White and conclude with a networking reception.
