Clifford E. Haines, president of the Philadelphia law firm of Haines & Associates, is vice president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is to become president of the 29,000-member state legal association in 2009.

A former Zone One Governor representing Philadelphia lawyers on the PBA Board of Governors, Haines is also a past chair of the PABAR-PAC. He is a member of the PBA House of Delegates and serves as a Pennsylvania delegate in the American Bar Association House of Delegates.

Haines is a former chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He is a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is a former chair and current member of the board of directors of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts.

Haines is a Senate-approved board member of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and serves on the board of directors of the Philadelphia Opera Company.

He holds degrees from Muskingum College and the Ohio State University School of Law.
