Maclay Mansion DVD (
Support the preservation of the Maclay Mansion, the PBA’s historic headquarters building in Harrisburg. Half of the $20 purchase price of this engaging and enlightening video goes to the maintenance of the mansion, a national historic site and "jewel of Pennsylvania history." The DVD is a 37-minute "virtual tour" of this exquisite home of the Pennsylvania Bar Association where, according to PBA Executive Director Barry M. Simpson, "there is a sense of history and dignity worthy of the profession." The tour is conducted by Ted Stellwag, PBA executive director emeritus, who shows off the building and its contents and offers vignettes on the mansion’s rich history and the life William Maclay, Pennsylvania’s first U.S. senator (1789-91) and the "contentious patriot" who oversaw construction of the building as his family home more than two centuries ago.
